Rihanna And Puma Sued For ‘Stealing’ A Company’s Logo

Rihanna and Puma are reportedly facing some legal trouble as Freedom United Clothing has slammed a lawsuit on the international pop star and fashion icon for using F.U. as a business card for her clothing business.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Freedom United Clothing is suing the platinum-selling singer for copyright infringement.
The company is claiming that RiRi ripped off their “FU” logo for her Fenty University merch. On the company’s website, it says they filed the registration for the trademark in 2006 and renewed it in 2014.
Rihanna And Puma Sued For ‘Stealing’ A Company’s LogoBear in mind that Rihanna signed a deal with PUMA where she had the company put F.U. on her sweatshirts, jewellery and sandals, and Freedom United says that’s just stealing.
However, the lawsuit claims Rihanna is aware there was an existing FU logo because she was photographed in one of their hoodies in 2014 and, even before that, her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown attended Freedom United’s launch party back in 2007.
The suit goes on to say PUMA touts Rihanna as a lawbreaker of sorts, noting on PUMA’s website it refers to the singer as“most likely to break the rules.” Well, they say F.U. is evidence of that.
Freedom United is suing PUMA for an order prohibiting future sales and damages.
